Summer Book Series

I'm always eager to dive into a new book. Excitement is even greater when the enjoyment of a good book is shared among friends. I hope you will grab a copy of the book and join the discussions!

The selected book for this particular book series will be Women Living Well: Finding Your Joy in God, Your Man, Your Kids, and Your Home by Courtney Joseph. I've followed her blog for a while and have read quite a few good reviews on the book. I'm looking forward to reading it and sharing my own thoughts as well as videos and other resources available.

I won't be the only one writing for this book series, though. My good friend from college, Arin, will be joining us! She has always been one of the sweetest and most uplifting ladies I know. I'm certain you'll be blessed by her during this series! I'll let her introduce herself:

Hello, my name is Arin. I attended Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in Knoxville, TN. While living in Knoxville, I became involved in a campus ministry on the University of Tennessee campus, which is where I met Whitney. I remember first bonding through a Friday night cooking session at a friend's apartment and most of our times together included our love of cooking (and food). I also remember her coming to the airport at 4:30 AM to see me off at the airport before I left for a summer abroad in China. It has been neat to see what God is doing in each other's lives post-college.

I am a new wife. My husband and I were married in my home church last July. We had a long-distance relationship so this first year has been very exciting to be able to share in daily life together. I have been unemployed most of this year, which has been a blessing in a lot of ways. It has given me some extra time to devote to developing my homemaking skills further and spending extra time with my husband. Most recently, I have started volunteering in a local women's homeless shelter, which is a long-time passion of mine.

I seek to put God first in every aspect of my life. My primary passion is to fulfill my roles as wife and future mom. My hobbies include cooking, baking, canning, reading, exercise (especially hiking), travel, serving in our local community, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love coffee, dresses, pink roses, chocolate, and attempting new recipes on Pintrest.
